NDNA Says Childcare Providers will Need Support to Achieve ‘Next Steps’ Outlined in 10- Year Childcare Strategy Update
28 January 2009 – National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) today responded to the Government’s ‘Next Steps for Early Learning and Childcare: Building on the 10-Year Strategy’. Whilst NDNA welcomed the recognition the document gives to the achievements made so far, the organisation warned that it was important to recognise that day nurseries would require support to achieve the vision it sets out.

28 January 2009 – National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) today responded to Daycare Trust’s Annual Childcare Costs Survey. Whilst recognising that on average the cost of a nursery place has risen, the organisation said that nurseries were working hard to ensure that childcare remained affordable for families.

15 January 2009 – National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) today announced that it is issuing a series of factsheets on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to help nurseries successfully embed the framework. For a limited period, the organisation is also making the first in the series available free to all nurseries

13 January 2009 – National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) today responded to the publication of the Government ‘New Opportunities White Paper – fair chances for the future.’ NDNA warmly welcomed how an initial offer for two year olds would support disadvantaged families and the long-term aim to make this a universal offer, but cautioned that adequate funding would be vital to its success.
